Ship 711 meets weekly in the summer at Braitos Marina in Kelseyville to work on skill development in seamanship (ship- and small boat handling, maintenance, safety, dealing with emergencies, etc.). In the winter, we meet at the American Legion Hall in Kelseyville and prepare for the annual Ancient Mariner Regatta, where Sea Scout Ship crews compete on various seamanship skills.

We regularly participate in other Bay Area Sea Scout Ship events and regattas to learn and share knowledge with other crews, such as

  • 2nd weekend in March – Northland Practice Regatta in Richmond
  • 1st weekend in April – Sea Farer’s Regatta in Martinez
  • 4th weekend in April – Old Salt’s Regatta in Redwood City
  • Memorial Day weekend – Ancient Mariner Regatta on the USS Hornet in Alameda
  • 3rd weekend in September – Lakeport Splash-In
  • 3rd weekend in October – Safety at Sea at the Yerba Buena Island Coast Guard Station
  • 4th weekend in October – Pirate’s Regatta in Martinez
  • 3rd weekend in November – Napa Mini-Regatta
